Working with the quotes history

Start by selecting the type of your account in the drop-down list.

To download quotes, select a currency pair or financial instrument, trading timeframe (M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W1, MN), and the desired year and month.

You will be prompted to download a ZIP file, which you should save to your computer. After saving the archive, unzip it to get a CSV file.

Note that you may need to download several files, depending on the period being analyzed and the selected timeframe:

  • For timeframes less than one hour, each file contains the information for one month.
  • For a one-hour timeframe, each file contains information for one year.
  • For timeframes greater than or equal to four hours, all of the information is stored in one file.

In your MetaTrader terminal, press F2 and select Tools  → History Center.

History Center

Press Import in the window that opens.

History Center

In the import window, press Browse to specify the path to the CSV file that you saved to your computer. After selecting the file, press OK in the file open dialog and the import window.

Import history

The History Center window will now show the quotes history for the selected currency pair and timeframe.
